What is the best kind of tablet for my computer?

I mostly need the tablet for art. I already have photoshop CS I was wondering what the best tablet is for an artist. Price is not issue, just quality. What brand & type of tablet would you reccommend and why. I would really appreciate it if you could provide past experiences in the why as well (ex. I’m an artist and I’ve used this for blah yrs) Thanks in advance!

I have had the Intuos 3 6×8 tablet for years. I think that bigger tablets than that size just take up too much room to be worth it. $330 may be high, but worth every penny.

If money is really not an object, and have $2000 to burn you want to get a Cintiq. It is a 21″ monitor with the Tablet built in. It’s got a stand or you can put in in your lap.

The Intuos and Cintiq has the most features and greatest range and control of pressure sensitivity. The Intuos seems to be the only pen that has angle tilt (not in Bamboo, or Graphire), so you will need that if you plan to use every tool option in Painter and Photoshop. and no battery in the pen, and can get different tips for it. Every other brand of tablet I’ve tried cannot come close.

I was a 3d Game Artist and found that nothing quite matches the feel and reliability of these tablets. I’ve painted hundreds of surface textures in photoshop. And my Intuos has served me well. I’ve played with a Cintiq at a trade show, and they feel pretty much the same, the only problem is that the price is not justified if I can do the same job with my cheaper Intuos.

If you use 3d sculpting software like Pixologic Zbrush, Autodesk Mudboxx, or Modo, the programmers usually have the features of the Wacom tablets in mind since the are the leading art pen tablet manufacturer.

It is just best to go with the Industry standard in this case.
